From files to finished electronics
PCB & PCBA Manufacturing Process
Eight controlled stages connect engineering inputs to a manufactured, inspected and reviewable output.
Eight-stage system
Every stage has an input, control and output
- 01
Gerber review
Verify revision, board construction, DFM inputs and missing information.
- 02
Material preparation
Confirm PCB materials, exact BOM, approved alternates and handling rules.
- 03
PCB fabrication
Manufacture the approved stack-up and monitor the selected process route.
- 04
Surface treatment
Apply and verify the specified finish for storage and assembly compatibility.
- 05
Electrical testing
Screen bare boards for opens and shorts against the agreed plan.
- 06
PCB assembly
Run SMT, THT, programming and mechanical work defined by the package.
- 07
Final inspection
Complete the agreed visual, AOI, X-ray and functional checks.
- 08
Shipment
Release the correct configuration, records, labels and protective packaging.
Process-control matrix
What is managed at each manufacturing step
| Step | Input | Primary control | Output |
|---|---|---|---|
| 01 · Gerber review | Gerber/ODB++, drill, drawing, stack-up | Revision, DFM, dimensions and requirement consistency | Reviewed fabrication package |
| 02 · Material preparation | Approved PCB data and BOM | Material identity, exact MPN, alternates and availability | Released material plan |
| 03 · PCB fabrication | Released stack-up and fabrication notes | Process route, artwork, drilling, plating and etching controls | Fabricated bare boards |
| 04 · Surface treatment | Board and finish specification | Finish selection, handling and acceptance criteria | Assembly-ready board surface |
| 05 · Electrical testing | Bare board and electrical test plan | Continuity, isolation and agreed sampling/coverage | Screened bare boards |
| 06 · PCB assembly | BOM, centroid, drawings and work instructions | Stencil, placement, profile, THT and configuration control | Assembled PCBAs |
| 07 · Final inspection | Assembly and acceptance plan | Visual, AOI, X-ray and functional checks by scope | Released conforming product |
| 08 · Shipment | Released product and packaging instruction | Quantity, records, labels, moisture/ESD protection and destination | Documented shipment |
